About

I am a technology-driven Operations Director with more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of technology, customer experience, operations, and digital transformation. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping organizations deliver exceptional customer experiences through innovative technology, scalable processes, and high-performing teams.

My professional background spans software development, digital marketing, customer success, project and program delivery, and SaaS operations. I thrive in environments where technology, business strategy, and customer needs come together. Delivering complex cloud-based solutions within budget, quality, and timeline constraints has been a recurring theme throughout my career.

I started my career as a software developer at a Dutch bank, where I gained a strong foundation in software engineering, process design, security, compliance, and privacy. During my time there, I worked across Internet and Marketing departments before eventually leading the Internet division, where I was responsible for several online brands, including Lenen.nl.

While I enjoyed the corporate environment, I was increasingly drawn toward faster-moving technology companies and digital innovation. That ultimately led me into the online self-service and customer experience industry, where I found the perfect combination of technology, creativity, and customer impact.

Today, I lead globally distributed teams across Europe and North America, covering multiple disciplines involved in customer delivery and success. Prior to several mergers and acquisitions involving large Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) organizations, I was part of the original Qelp Management Team. Over the past 15+ years, I have helped guide the company through multiple stages of growth, transformation, and integration.

In addition to leading operations, I have served on the Board of Directors and held full P&L responsibility for the Dutch legal entity, overseeing both financial performance and overall business operations.

The teams I currently lead include:

  • Content department (around 30+ FTE): Producers, Editors, Managers, Artwork producers + Logistics (in the Netherlands, Romania, and in the USA);
  • Operations department (10 FTE): Project managers (Netherlands, Romania and in the USA);
  • Development; dotted responsibility for development delivery (located in the Netherlands and in Brazil).

Technology Beyond the Office

Technology is not just my profession; it is also one of my biggest personal interests.

I enjoy understanding how things work, whether that involves software, electronics, mechanical systems, or engineering challenges. I have always been a hands-on problem solver and enjoy taking complex technical problems apart and rebuilding them from the ground up.

A good example is my current restoration project: a rare 1974 BMW 2002tii Luxus barn find that had been off the road for more than 35 years. Rather than outsourcing the work, I am teaching myself many aspects of classic car restoration, including metal fabrication, welding, rust repair, mechanical refurbishment, diagnostics, and research into period-correct restoration techniques.

The project combines many of the qualities that also define my professional life: curiosity, persistence, analytical thinking, continuous learning, and attention to detail. Whether I am leading a global SaaS delivery program or fabricating repair panels for a classic BMW, I enjoy understanding the underlying system and finding practical solutions to complex challenges.

Outside of Work

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy reading and writing, and I hope to write a novel someday. I have a passion for motorcycles, cycling, technology, and classic cars. I enjoy both the intellectual challenge of learning new things and the satisfaction that comes from building, improving, and restoring things with my own hands with a “rolling-up-your-sleeves” mentality.

For me, growth comes from staying curious, embracing new challenges, and never stopping the learning process.
