This morning I finally found some time to install my new phone RAM-mount on my motorcycle. The mount and phone are only needed for navigation purposes. No need for listening to music or allowing phone calls when riding. My riding is like an adrenalin rush. My riding is like racing. So the music comes from the exhaust anyway 🙂

RAM-mount

The installation was somewhat difficult. I could not find any example videos online about the installation process for the 2017 Aprilia RSV4. So I used the manual that came in the box. Everything went smoothly until I had to tighten the mount in the stem fork. The rubber mount kept turning along in the stem fork. So it would not tighten the way it should be. So I had to fiddle around a bit to get it really snug and tight. In the end, it still did not tighten according to my liking.

So let’s go out for a ride to test the mount with a (kind of heavy) Apple iPhone X in it. Got my leaders on and off I went. Using Waze to navigate to Motoport Wormerveer. The iPhone stayed put, fortunately.

What I forgot to calculate in advance was to bring my credit card. Stupid me. I ran out of gas on my way home. Bummer…! Of course, I noticed the light on the dash. Usually, this means you can still risk another 50 km. Boy, was I wrong.

Fortunately, the weather was amazing. No issue waiting in the sun for a refill 🙂
